Joshua Tree will always hold nostalgic magic for me. We almost didn't go, we weren't sure if we had time, but in roll-of-the-dice decision we decided to drive the extra hour. The people were friendly and quirky. The restaurants were vegan or barbecue. The architecture was bizarre and nonsensical. The foliage and rock faces were prehistoric. The color palette was the pinnacle of perfection; every shade in the spectrum of blues, greens, & browns represented. It was a fairy tale place where no matter what, everything felt completely unhinged and recklessly free. It didn't make a lot of sense, in the best way.
JOSHUA TREE. YOU ARE EVERYTHING GOOD + HOLY IN THIS WORLD.
Thanks for being the most gracious goodbye from the dreamiest trip. Hope to be with you again soon.
